MIDTERMS
(fuck) (i hate all of this) (anyway here we go) My Plan As Of Now: (DM me and let's discuss if you're not feeling where I'm leaning for some reason or another, but this feels like a solid, "well... it's the best we can do with this shit sandwich of a ballot," to me.) STATE: Governor: Gavin Fucking Newsom Lt. Governor: Eleni Fucking Kounalakis Sect. of State: Shirley Weber Controller: Malia Cohen Treasurer: Fiona Ma Attny. Gen.: Rob Bonta Insurance Commissioner: Ricardo Lara Board of Equalization District 1: Jose Altamirano US Senator Full Term: Alex Fucking Padilla US Senator Partial Term: Alex Fucking Padilla Again US Representative: Ami Oooo Lookit Me Bera State Senator: Paula Villescaz State Assembly District 7: Ken Do You Like My Ads Cooley GODDAMN JUDGES: Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero: yeah okay Associate Justice of the Supreme Court Goodwin Liu: sure why not Associate Justice of the Supreme Court Martin Jenkins: I don't see why not so sure Associate Justice of the Supreme Court Joshua Groban: I wish you were the singer instead but yeah Associate Justice Court of Appeals Third District Stacy Boulware Eurie: TF is your middle name but yeah Associate Justice Court of Appeals Third District Laurie Earl: yeah okay Associate Justice Court of Appeals Third District Harry Hull: NO. (I know, but hear me out: while the bill itself was unanimously opposed, he did help to overturn the 2017 LGBTQ Senior Bill of Rights that criminalized refusal by staff to properly gender their patients in senior care facilities as well as other infringements on gender issues and cohabitation. Also, he's been in office for like 30 years. Let's.... Let's mix this up. I think he's had his turn.) Associate Justice Court of Appeals Third District Peter Krause: Oddly enough yes. (The only controversy I can find on this dude is him fighting extra hard for someone who died of mesothelioma after asbestos exposure at his workplace. That feels like the *right* move to me...) MORE STATE: Superintendent of Public Education: (Parents! Weigh In Here Please!) Tony Thurmond unless the child-havers of my circles are opposed with good cause. I'm way out of this loop, so I don't have a reason to boot him from his seat, but if there's just cause, throw it my way please and thank you. (For my 916'ers) Los Rios Community College District Governing Board Member Trustee Area 2: A. Get a real job, but B. Martin Ross just feels better to my gut based on what I'm seeing (More from the 916) Carmichael Water District Director Division 3: Incumbent Jeff Nelson. I wasn't overwhelmed by enthusiasm, but he and the company he's a big wig at helped do some environmental good in Tahoe, so he can't be ALL bad I guess. MEASURES AND BILLS! Measure 1: Fuck yes unless someone's catching something that I'm glaringly overlooking. Measure 26: Yes unless there's, again, something I'm really missing here. Measure 27: No. Thank you to Kailey who pointed me right on this one and Knock LA Voter's Guide for laying it out more clearly Measure 28: Yes, open and shut? Measure 29: Thanks also to Corey on this one. Shockingly YES. While the last couple Dialysis measures have been reeeeeeeal messed up, this one does seem like it will genuinely force Davita to quit price gouging the way they are. Measure 30: YES. This one took some work and some help (thank you, Corey). While Lyft is heavily bankrolling the Yes campaign, Newsom and the GOP are gunning hard for No. On the whole, Lyft's interest in this seems to be belaying future cost-incursion in shifting its fleet toward California's approximately-90% electric vehicle goal. Several progressive voter guides are recommending yes and it feels like that is, oddly enough, the move. Measure 31: This feels like a "you do you boo boo" kind of No. SACRAMENTO COUNTY Measure A: Feels like yes? Measure B: Also feels like yes? All this would really mean is increased prices right? Measure D: ...yes? CARMICHAEL-SPECIFIC Measure G: Can't see a reason not to so yes?
